The Challenge

NASCA directly addresses issues Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people face daily.

We address the root causes of inequality, and use our Aboriginal knowledge and expertise to ensure young people stay strong in their culture and identity and are resilient in combating the structural and systemic bias and racism prevalent in Australia today.

The commitment to social justice, equity and access to the benefits of Indigenous terms of reference from NASCA staff has meant that cultural pride built on over the past year can directly counteract the barriers to employment, education and health young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face daily.

Currently, youth incarceration levels, community well being, cultural continuation and alleviating racism have been just some of the issues that have been highlighted and need addressing like never before.  NASCA addresses these and other issues by holistically building on the strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their communities.
