Volunteer Information
We recruit volunteers through three intakes to undergo one week placements in remote Northern Territory communities each year. The selection process is highly competitive with demand across the country from skilled, qualified and inspirational Australians. To qualify applicants must by 21yrs and over, have experience working with children, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
NASCA relies on the support of volunteers to deliver programs in the NT and NSW each year.
Are you our ideal volunteer? Do you have the following skills set?
We accept both Indigenous and non-Indigenous volunteers
A demonstrated interest in; or knowledge of issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
Experience in sport, education or community development and/or experience working with young people
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
You’re a team player, with a willingness to get involved and fully participate in all activities i.e. a ‘can do’ attitude
You demonstrate healthy life choices
