Our Young Womens's Academies support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young women and girls to thrive and excel at school.

“A good education that reflects the strengths of our
girls and young women is one that will let them walk
with confidence in two worlds.”

Equity for young women and girls

NASCA is one of the only organisations in the country that caters to the specific needs of Indigenous young women and girls. Our young women and girls deserve an education that builds their confidence, strengthens their Culture, and enables them to realise their potential. That’s why we work with students who are often at a critical drop-out point and help them re-engage with their education.

Intensive support

Our Young Women’s Academies operate five days a week catering to students from year 7 to year 12. We provide intensive, wrap-around support, role-modelling, one-to-one, and group mentoring, in-class, and academic support, transportation to and from school, healthy meals, well-being workshops, cultural excursions, camps, and events, and a dedicated NASCA safe space at school.

The future is female

Our programs are curriculum-aligned, culturally safe, and tailored to help our young women and girls succeed. We help them grow up proud of their Culture and heritage, confident in their abilities, and empowered to build a successful future for themselves.

“NASCA has helped me in so many ways, they’ve helped me to achieve my academic goals, they’ve helped me to hand in assessments when I didn’t think I could. NASCA has made me feel so welcome and proud to be Aboriginal.”

– Mackenzie, Wiradjuri, Wellington High School
