Education changes everything

But it’s hard to give children a great education in remote communities where resources and services are very limited. That’s why programs that get kids to school, help build life skills and encourage them to pursue their interests is so important.

Walking alongside

Three times a year, we run an intensive program in nine remote Aboriginal communities across the NT. Our community-led program aims to increase school engagement and build life skills. We do this by providing in-class support and delivering curriculum-aligned lessons, before-school activities, and after-school kids clubs, sports, healthy lifestyle, and wellbeing workshops. Everything’s grounded in long-term partnerships with communities, some of which have spanned more than 20 years.

Powered by volunteers

Our Northern Territory Program is delivered by key NASCA staff who engage with these communities throughout the year, and teams of dedicated NASCA volunteers who join us on our week-long intensives in community. Our volunteers are skilled individuals with specific qualifications that fit the needs of the communities and schools we work with.

“NASCA’s work with remote communities is a valuable commodity. Their programs provide exposure to role models and opportunities that our students may not otherwise have the chance to discover. After years of positive experiences, NASCA has earned their trust and our students cherish their chances to engage with them.”

– Michael Ryan, Laramba School Principal
