Our 100% model

NASCA is proud to be a 100% Indigenous-governed and led organisation.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have the profound and innate right to self-determination. To sovereignty, self-governance, and self-rule.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are best placed to take care of our communities. After all, we’ve been doing it for over 65,000 years. We have the lived experience, unique expertise, and skills required to provide the right kind of support to our communities.

NASCA is 100% Indigenous-governed and led. Every member of our Board and Leadership Team is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Over 93% of our program staff are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, with deep connections to the communities we work in.

“It’s important for Indigenous kids to have that support network with Indigenous workers, it helps a lot knowing they can relate to them in different ways.”
