NASCA hosts 35 young people from remote Northern Territory communities for a week of fun-filled activities in Sydney.

In the final week of November, NASCA’s Sydney team hosted 35 young people from five of our remote Northern Territory communities for a jam-packed week of fun-filled activities.

We climbed the Harbour Bridge, played Traditional Indigenous Games, and caught some waves at Maroubra beach. We were also lucky enough to visit with the GWS Giants and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

There was a visit to Taronga Zoo with animal encounters and a Seal show and a visit to Archie Brothers Arcade.

It’s all about rewarding those students who come to and engage well with school, and doing what we can to improve educational outcomes, especially for those in very remote areas where school attainment, attendance and retention rates are the lowest in the country.

It’s programs like this that incentivise and reward that can make all the difference for our young people.
